Medical assistants perform both clinical and administrative duties. They are among the most versatile members of the healthcare team. In this 12-week program, students will complete readings, assignments, and in-class demonstrations to prepare them to perform duties such as:
• Check patients in and out upon arrival and departure
• Answer phone calls and patient questions
• Perform basic billing and coding procedures
• Assist providers with exams and procedures
• Assist with minor surgeries
• Administer injections and medications
• Work within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Perform EKG, phlebotomy, and laboratory procedures
• Take patient vital signs
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certification Exam.

Weekday Sessions
Sessions will be held on MONDAYS and WEDNESDAYS beginning in Week 7.
In-house sessions: 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM EST (15-minute break)
Program Length: 12 Weeks
Online Course Schedule:
A new week begins every Monday at 12:00 AM EST and ends the following Sunday at 11:59 PM EST.
(Please be advised that all coursework is completed online. Attendance at in-house clinical sessions is mandatory for hands-on skills training.)
